Jason Bally Memorial
TORTOLA - The BVI Cycling Federation hosts the 7th annual Jason Bally Memorial/National Championship race this Sunday, September 30th. After missing a year because of the very successful Caribbean Cycling Championships, the race is back and has gone back to the original route.
Cyclists are expected from Antigua, French and Dutch St. Martin, The USVI, and the BVI. The race starts at 8am on the JWF Highway, next to the James Frett Building. Information follows below.

Registration, Dinner, and Race briefings @ Nexus Bar and Grill from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
Sunday September 30th 2007
Breakfast at Nexus Bar and Grill from 6:00am to 7:00am
Race starts at 8:00am in front of James Frett Building on the JWF Highway.
Memorial moment of silence at 8:10am in Sea Cow’s Bay by the Jason Bally Plaque.
Lunch and prize ceremony after the race@ Festival Village grounds.
Transportation to the airport and Westend after festivities.

RACE COURSE
This year’s race has gone back to the original route. The race will start on the James Walter Francis highway and travel down the Sir Francis Drake Highway to Frenchman’s Cay junction in West End. At the junction, the race will turn and head back east towards Road Town, then all the way out to the Airport on Beef Island. At the airport, the race will turn and travel all the way back to the Frenchman’s Cay junction in West End. From the junction, head back to town and go to the Port Purcell roundabout. Go around the roundabout, and head back to the Start/Finish for the finish. The total distance will be 60miles. There will be 3 sprint preems along the course. The first will be at the basketball course in West End. The 2nd will be at the top of Sophie Bay hill going toward the airport. The third one will be at the START/FINISH line on the first return to West End.
The short course for Juniors, Mountain bikes, and Novices will be the same as above expect it will finish on the trip back from the airport. (Please note that everyone is allowed to do the full course if they so desire. only the full course offers the prize monies.)
AERO BARS ARE NOT ALLOWED!! HELMETS MANDOTARY!
RACE ENTRY
Race entry fee is $40.00 US
ACCOMODATIONS
Because of our financial constraints, we will not be able to offer accommodations this year. We have worked out the best rates possible at the hotels that we normally use and the room rates for the weekend are as follows:
Village Cay Hotel.
$135.00 per night, per room. Rooms sleep 2 persons, 3 with a cot.
A&L Inn.
$85.00 per night, per room. Rooms sleep 2 persons, 4 if you don’t mind sharing beds.
Paradise Suites Hotel
Triple rooms: $96.52 per night, per room. Rooms sleep 3 persons.
Double rooms: $74.58 per night, per room. Rooms sleep 2 persons.
Single rooms: $63.40 per night, per room. Rooms sleep 1 person.

6TH -$75.00

Preems
$100.00 for 1st in each preem.
